Bluejay Volleyball owns nation's highest-ranked women's media guide
OMAHA, Neb. --Â Three members of the Creighton Sports Information Office were honored by College Sports Communicators during the organization's annual Creative & Digital Design Contest.
Sports Information Director Rob Anderson, Associate SID Glen Sisk and Assistant SID Patrick Davis were all recognized for their work on the Creighton's 2023 Volleyball Media Guide that was voted ninth-best nationally among all Division I media guides in all sports. None of the eight publications to finish ahead of Creighton were for a women's sport, including volleyball.
This is the eighth time since 2007-08 that a publication related to Creighton Volleyball has received acclaim from CSC. The 2012 and 2021 media guides were both named Best in Nation, while in 2015 CU was recognized for Best Women's Volleyball Game Program. CU was also a runner up for its 2019 Volleyball Media Guide, 2019 Volleyball Notes and 2017 Volleyball Game Program. Creighton Volleyball was initially honored in following the 2007-08 campaign for having the eighth-best media guide.
The 2023 Creighton Volleyball Media Guide cover was designed by Kristin Coldsnow.
There were just 15 Division I colleges, universities and conference offices that were honored overall in the publications portion of the Creative & Digital Design Contest, but Creighton was the lone BIG EAST school to be honored in any of those categories for the second straight year. Oklahoma picked up a nation-leading seven publication-related awards, while Kansas and Kansas State both authored six publications to receive an accolade. Only three other schools (Arizona State, Georgia, West Virginia) received multiple recognitions.
Oklahoma State's Men's Golf media guide took the top spot in the Best Media Guide category of the University Division, just ahead of Oklahoma's media guide for Football. The Kansas Men's Basketball media guide was tabbed third-best. Other publications to finish ahead of CU included West Virginia Football, UNLV Football, West Virginia Men's Basketball, Kansas State Baseball and Kansas State Football.
The 2023-24 awards give the Creighton Sports Information Office 29 awards and honors in the last 17 years for its excellence in publications, writing and overall service to the media, including at least one recognition each of the past nine years.
Additionally, Anderson was also honored on Wednesday in Las Vegas by the College Sports Communicators for his 25 years of service in the profession.
