Bird Seeds
- Creighton will be making its sixth appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
- The No. 7 seed equals the best entry the Bluejays have had. Creighton was a No. 7 seed in the 1992 NCAA Tournament (48 teams).
- The Bluejays were a double-digit seed in each of the four other appearances; 1994 (No. 10), 2002 (No. 12), 2012 (No. 14) & 2013 (No. 10).
- The Bluejays are 3-5 all-time in the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the second round in 1992, 1994 and 2013.
- Creighton and Toledo have played once previously, that also coming on a neutral floor as the two teams faced off in 1997 on Nov. 30 on St. John's campus. The Bluejays won that exchange, 72-56. Head coach Jim Flanery was the Bluejays' top assistant.
- The Rockets and Bluejays share another tie as Toledo head coach Tricia Cullop coached against Flanery and Creighton from 2000-01 to 2007-08 as the leader of Evansville. During her time at the helm of the Aces, Flanery held a 12-3 edge in direct matchups with Cullop.
