Michaela Henne Named BIG EAST Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week

Henne finished the weekend 4-0 while helping the Bluejays to a pair of wins
OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton women's tennis junior Michaela Henne earned BIG EAST Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors, the conference announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Henne finished this past weekend 4-0 with a pair of straight-sets victories at No. 2 singles and two wins at No. 2 doubles while helping the Bluejays remain undefeated at home with dual victories over North Dakota and Missouri State.
The Kansas City, Mo., native, defeated North Dakota's Isa Sullivan 6-2, 6-2 to clinch Creighton's dual victory against the Fighting Hawks on Friday. On Saturday, Henne earned a 6-4, 6-1 win over Missouri State's Anelisse Torrico to help the Bluejays sweep the Bears.
During doubles play, Henne paired with Claire Embree for 6-2 victories against the No. 2 doubles teams of both North Dakota and Missouri State.Â
Creighton returns to the courts on Friday at the Hanscom Tennis Courts against UMKCÂ (11:30 a.m.). The Bluejays are currently 3-0 at home and are in the middle of a stretch of six consecutive contests in Omaha.Â
