Women's Soccer Inks Eight for 2018

Omaha, Neb. – Creighton women's soccer head coach Ross Paule announced eight new Bluejays that will make up the 2018 class. Stepping on the pitch next year for the Creighton will be Ansley Atkinson (Minneapolis, Minn.), Nela Cizkova (Prague, Czech Republic), Francesca Frericks (Chicago, Ill.), Aline Reinkober (Riesa, Germany), Emma Roemer (Oregon, Wis.), Morgan Szarka (Aurora, Colo.), Keelan Terrell (Olathe, Kan.) and Michaela Weist (Overland Park, Kan.).
"I am very excited about our 2018 class as each one has the potential to have a significant positive influence in our program. It is a class that I expect to raise the level of our team in every position," said Paule. "This class is from all over the world and they will bring talent, creativity, hard work, positive character and high level playing experience. This class has great potential that I cannot wait to bring into the foundation of our current team to continue our progress."
The first signee, Atkinson, comes to Creighton as a First Team All-State nominee in Minnesota during both her sophomore and senior seasons. A 5-7 midfielder from DeLaSalle High School, Atkinson was part of her club's State Cup championship team four times (2013-2015 & 2017).
A 5-7 defender, Cizkova found her way to Omaha from the Czech Republic. She played for several clubs overseas, most recently for 1.FC Slovacko in her home country.
Joining Creighton from the Windy City Frericks is a 5-8 midfielder. As a freshman, Frericks helped Cary-Grove HS to the State sectional finals, while earning her varsity letter and All-Conference First Team nod. Over the last two years, Frericks has played for the Sockers FC Chicago Development Academy.
Reinkober is the second German of the signing class, hailing from Zeithain. Aline spent the last two seasons also playing for 1.FFC Turbine Potsdam in the Bundesliga League. The 5-7 midfielder collected seven goals during those two seasons and also played for the U17 & U19 German National Teams.
Coming from Wisconsin Roemer is a 5-6 midfielder from Oregon HS. She received a Second Team All-Badger Conference Selection in her only year of high school soccer during 2017. Emma played club soccer for FC Wisconsin Eclipse.
An import from Colorado, Szarka is a 5-7 defender that played for Grandview HS. She led Grandview to the Co-State Championship during both her freshman and sophomore seasons. A decorated player, Szarka earned an invitation to tryout for Canada's U20 Team this fall.
Terrell joins the squad from Kansas, where the 5-9 goalkeeper played for Olathe East HS. Originally born in Ireland, Terrell was a three-time All-State selection for the Hawks. In addition, her club team (KC Blaze Blue Angels) has won the Kansas State Cup in each of the last three seasons.
A 5-4 defender from St. James Academy, Weist collected four letters with the Thunder. A Second Team All-Eastern Kansas League Selection last season. Weist played club soccer for the Sporting Blue Valley Showcase team over the previous two years.
