Baseball Battles Central Arkansas in a Three-Game Set

Omaha, Neb. -- Coming off a sweep of UC Davis last weekend, the Creighton Baseball squad will try to keep rolling in a three-game set with Central Arkansas beginning Friday.
Scouting the Bluejays (2018: 4-2, 0-0 BIG EAST)
Coming off a weekend sweep at the expense of UC Davis, the Bluejays look to continue their momentum in Arkansas as they take on the Bears.
At the plate, Clark Brinkman continues to hit the ball at an efficient level (.462)while Isaac Collins (.348), Michael Emodi (.346) and Will Robertson (.346) have also
contributed at the plate during the Bluejays hot start to the season. Emodi leads the team in RBI with 10 to his name, while Robertson added six of his nine RBI in the 10-7 (11) victory in Creighton's final game at UC Davis.
Tapani looks to continue to add to his 2-0 start to the season. His 1.80 ERA is the
lowest amongst the Bluejay starters and is projected to get the start on Friday against the Bears.

Scouting the Bears (2018: 2-5, 0-0 Southland)
The Bears lean on senior pitcher Tyler Gray as their rock on the mound. With just a 1.38 ERA after his first two appearances, Gray has thrown 16 strikeouts in just 13 innings of work.
Central Arkansas has relied on the bats of Tyler Smith (.350) and Hunter Strong (.280) early on in the season. Strong leads the bears with four RBI, while both lead the team in hits, doubles, and total bases.
The Bears come off a double-header meeting against Missouri State, prevailing in a grueling 1-0 shutout in 10 innings before falling short in the second game of the day in a 5-2 defeat.
Robertson's Six RBI Day at UC Davis
Coming into Sunday's matchup against UC Davis, Robertson entered the day with three RBI, while leaving it with nine. His six RBI outing helped the Bluejays scrape past the Aggies 10-7 in extra innings. Michael Emodi was the last to put up six or more RBI in a single game, when he brought seven batters home against Utah Valley last year, in a 19-5 win on March 19.
Emodi Collects BIG EAST Honor Roll
Rewarded for both his on and off-the-field success, Emodi led Creighton to a series road sweep at UC-Davis with a team-best .467 average (7-of-15) as he was selected for the weekly BIG EAST Honor Roll on February 26. Emodi tied the team-high with seven RBI in three games. He had a .733 slugging with four doubles. He also gunned down three Aggie runners attempting to steal during the series.
