Baseball Wraps Up Stretch of Road Games at Nebraska on Tuesday

Omaha, Neb. -- The Creighton Baseball team wraps up its ninth game of 12 away from home as the Bluejays travel west to face Nebraska on Tuesday, April 24th at 6:35 pm.

Brinkman Earns NCAA.com National Player of the Week
Before last week, Creighton's Clark Brinkman had one home run this season. That changed in a hurry as the junior swatted a leadoff homer on Friday and went on to bash four homers in a three-game series vs. Xavier. In the second game of the battle with the Musketeers Brinkman launched two round trippers, to plate five runs.
Brinkman finished the week with eight RBI to push his total to 25 on the season. To round out the series, Brinkman went 4-4 with two RBI, bringing his average to .352 on the season..
Robertson Collects BIG EAST Player of the Week
Creighton outfielder Will Robertson helped lead Creighton to a 3-1 week as he hit .450 (9-for-20) with three home runs and nine RBI for a 1.100 slugging percentage.
Robertson had a multi-hit performance in each of the Bluejays' four games, led by a three-hit contest in Creighton's 7-3 win over Xavier on Saturday, which coincidentally was the only game he didn't hit home run.
In the 2-1 series against Xavier, Robertson went 7-for-15 (.467) with six RBI and two home runs in the series win over Xavier. The sophomore collected 22 total bases with a .476 on-base percentage.
Beating Nebraska is a Key to the NCAA
Dating back to 1974 Creighton has won the regular season series with Nebraska seven times (1989, 1990, 1992, 1993, 2005, 2007 and 2010). Four of those years have resulted in NCAA Regional appearances, including both 2005 and 2007.
Ragan Earns Honor Roll Spot
Ragan held Xavier scoreless through six innings to secure the series win over the Musketeers on the road. He struck out six, limiting XU to three hits to earn the win.
All Day Offense as Bluejays Plate 24, Belting a School Record Eight Home Runs
Powered by a program record eight home runs, the Creighton Baseball team defeated Xavier 24-8 on Friday, April 20.
Juniors Jack Strunc and Thomas Luevano each smashed two round-trippers in the win, while sophomore Isaac Collins finished with eight RBI to lead the way.
Clark Brinkman began the Bluejays' jogs around the bases with a leadoff blast in the first.
