The loss dropped the Bluejays to 17-7 on the season and 0-1 in BIG EAST play, while Butler moved to 18-7 overall and 1-0 in conference action.
Creighton got on the scoreboard first, plating a run in the bottom of the first. Junior Clark Brinkman walked, went to second on a single from sophomore Isaac Collins. One out later the two Bluejays advanced 90 feet on a wild pitch, then scored on a passed ball.
Butler pulled even in the third with consecutive singles to open the frame and an RBI ground out by Tyler Houston.
The Bluejays answered quickly in the bottom half of the frame as junior Michael Emodi doubled and junior Thomas Luevano laced an RBI single to right center.
The Creighton lead got pushed to 3-1 in the fifth by the same tandem as Emodi was hit by a pitch to open the frame. The Omaha native moved to second on a groundout, then raced home as Luevano went the other way for an RBI double.
Butler knotted the game once more with two runs in the sixth. The Bulldog rally began with two out as Michael Hartnagel drew a walk, Garrett Christman singled to right and Harrison Freed drove a two run double down the left field line.

Butler, however, opened the eighth with four hits in the first five batters to take a 6-4 lead.
Senior Grant Spranger suffered the loss (1-1), allowing two runs on two hits in one-third of an inning.
Butler reliever Josh Walker picked up the win (2-0) as he held Creighton scoreless for the final 2.1 innings of the contest.
