Men's Soccer Sends Players Across Country For Summer Development

A total of 19 players that will play for the Bluejays in the fall will play with a total five different clubs this summer
OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton men's soccer may not be together for the majority of the summer, but multiple Bluejays will continue to develop their skills with different clubs across the country in preparation for the 2018 fall season.
A total of 19 Bluejays will compete for five different squads that span the Premier Development League (PDL), National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) and United Premier Soccer League (UPSL).
Players will head to their respective clubs following the completion of the spring semester, and wrap up their summer season during mid-July.Â
Sven Koenig, Luke Haakenson, Kuba Polat and Pepe Cejudo will compete with Chicago FC United. Chicago is a part of the Heartland Division in the Central Conference of the PDL and plays its home matches at Loyola Soccer Park just west of the Loyola University Chicago campus.
Anthony Macchione, Julius Fohr, Connor Ramlo, Dominic Valdivia and Paul Kruse will head to Oregon and play for Lane United FC, which competes in the Northwest Division of the PDL. Lane United plays its home matches at Les Schwab Park in Springfield, Oregon. Â
Younes Boudadi, Daniel Espeleta, Yudai Tashiro, Ziyad Fares and Tor Trosten will compete for the Laredo Heat Soccer Club, which will play its first season in the NPSL this summer. The club will compete in the South Region's Texas Conference and play its home matches at Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas.
Florian Daut and Keegan Boyd will both play for the Nebraska Bugeaters FC, which competes in the UPSL and is based out of Lincoln, Nebraska.Â
Finally, Joel Rydstrand, Akeem Ward and Bryce Gibson will make the short journey to Iowa and play for the Des Moines Menace. The Menace are a part of the Heartland Division in the Central Conference of the PDL. The squad's home matches take place at Valley Stadium in West Des Moines, Iowa.Â
Creighton will open its 2018 fall schedule with three exhibition matches before opening the regular season on August 24 at Morrison Stadium against Clemson.Â
