Former Bluejay Nicky Lopez Met With the Media Prior to Debut with Omaha Storm Chasers

Omaha, Neb. -- Former Creighton shortstop Nicky Lopez makes his return to Omaha tonight a the Illinois native will make his debut with the Omaha Storm Chasers (AAA affiliate of the Kansas City Royals). Prior to the game Lopez met with the local media to discuss his return to the city he played in from the Bluejays from 2014-16.
A 5th Round selection by the Kansas City Royals in the 2016 MLB Draft, Lopez was an All-BIG EAST Second Team selection, Lopez closed the 2016 season with a .306 average. He collected 60 hits, including 11 doubles, five triples and two home runs. Nicky swiped 11 of 13 bases and sparkled in the field with a .975 fielding percentage.
Lopez will play shortstop and hit second for the Storm Chasers tonight, June 29th against the Nashville Sounds.
