Kris Kugel Huss was a driving force in the most successful four-year span in Creighton women's basketball history. The Hebron, Neb., native started 91 of the 118 games she played in from 1990 through 1994, helping the Bluejays to four consecutive 20-win seasons, two Western Athletic Conference regular-season titles, a WAC Tournament title, and two NCAA Tournament appearances.
Kugel Huss remains the most accurate shooter in school history, making a school-record 57.6 percent of her field goal attempts throughout her four seasons. She set a school record by shooting 63.2 percent from the field as a senior, while she also ranks fourth and 10th in single-season Creighton history in field goal percentage.
After coming off the bench for all 27 games of her freshman season, the center would start the final 91 games of her career. As a sophomore, averaging 15.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game for the 1991-92 team, which captured a school-record 28 victories. In Creighton's first-ever NCAA Tournament game, she led the Bluejays to a victory over Long Beach State with a team-high 27 points and 10 rebounds. She again led the team in points and rebounds in a heartbreaking one-point loss to Stephen F. Austin in the second round of the 1992 NCAA Tournament.

Her junior season started on a high note, earning Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week honors in Creighton's first week as a league member. She capped her career by helping the Bluejays return to the NCAA Tournament in 1994, earning All-MVC First-Team notice along the way.
Not only did she start in Creighton's only NCAA Tournament wins during her career, but she was also part of 94 victories, the most wins in a four-year period in school history. She was the seventh player in school history to surpass career points and ended her career ranked sixth with 1,343 points. Along with her school-record field goal percentage, Kugel Huss remains in the Creighton career top-10 in free throw attempts, free throws made, and field goals made.
Kugel Huss has continued to be involved in athletics since graduating from Creighton in 1994, officiating high school volleyball and coaching youth athletics in Fairbury, Neb.
