Gradoville, who is married to Bluejay men's soccer coach Bret Simon, also starred on the hardwood at Creighton, totaling 2,024 points for the women's basketball team from 1984 to 1988. The team's leading scorer three times -- as a freshman (13.9 ppg), junior (22.0), and senior (23.2) -- Gradoville led the Bluejay women to three 20-win seasons in Creighton's final three years as an independent program. During those three independent seasons (1984-87), Gradoville, a 6'1" center, helped Creighton to a 64-21 (.753) record, including a 12-7 mark against Big 8 Conference teams, two Oklahoma State Tournament championships and a third place finish in the 1987 National Women's Invitational Tournament, Creighton's first-ever postseason tournament in women's basketball.
In addition to ranking second behind Kathy Halligan's 2,159 career points, Gradoville remains the school's all-time rebound leader with 924 career boards, 100 more than second-place Shannon Struby -- and is still first with 823 career field goals.
"Pam (Gradoville) was the most enjoyable player I ever had the privilege to coach," said Rasmussen, who was the women's basketball coach at Creighton from 1980 to 1992. "She enjoyed playing the game as much as anyone, but she was also a tremendous competitor who got an unbelievable amount of production out of the ability she had.
"Pam's enthusiasm went beyond basketball," added Rasmussen, "and she was as well-liked on this campus as any student, not just a student-athlete, but any student who has attended Creighton University."
