Rick Freehling, a 1994 College of Business graduate, was a member of Creighton University’s 1991 College World Series baseball team. He holds Creighton records for hits, at-bats, and triples, and ranks second in runs and walks. He also ranks among the top 10 in stolen bases, runs batted in (RBIs), and games played. Freehling was named a second-team all-MVC selection in each of his final three seasons. He went on to play in the minors for two years, 1992 and 1993, and came back to Creighton as a volunteer assistant coach in 1995 and 1996.
