Rick Freehling, a 1994 College of Business graduate, was a member of Creighton University’s 1991 College World Series baseball team. He holds Creighton records for hits, at-bats, and triples, and ranks second in runs and walks. He also ranks among the top 10 in stolen bases, runs batted in (RBIs), and games played. Freehling was named a second-team all-MVC selection in each of his final three seasons. He went on to play in the minors for two years, 1992 and 1993, and came back to Creighton as a volunteer assistant coach in 1995 and 1996. He teaches critical thinking and reasoning at the middle school level, and he and his wife, Toni, have three children and reside in Colorado Springs, Colo.
