
Women's Tennis Ties School Record With Ninth Straight Win, 7-0 Over South Dakota

OMAHA, Neb. - The Creighton women's tennis team tied a school record as it won its ninth straight match, 7-0, over the University of South Dakota, Saturday at the Hanscom Tennis Center.
Kelsey Schmidt won her ninth straight match, defeating Janea Hagen, 6-0, 6-0. Her streak is the longest on the team, one ahead of Tess Reddin, Mary Pat McMullan and Nicole Nakaoka who have all won eight straight. Schmidt's 6-0, 6-0 victory was one of three on the day, to blank the Coyotes.
In doubles play, Leesa and Sarah Cadwallader defeated Isabel Nunez and Ashley Waltman, 8-3, for their ninth straight victory in the No. 2 slot.
The Bluejays will go for their school-record 10th straight victory on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m., as they take on cross-town rival Nebraska-Omaha, at 12:30 p.m., at the Hanscom Tennis Center.
