The Creighton (6-5-2, 2-2-1 BIG EAST) attempted 20 shots to 13 for the visitor and led in corner kicks 9-5 but could not break its three-match scoreless streak. Villanova (7-6-1, 2-3-0 BIG EAST) scored in the final minute of the first overtime to claim the win and record the first goal by a conference opponent inside Morrison Stadium since Bradley on Nov. 6, 2010.
Neither team could muster a score in the regulation. The Wildcats' Dylan Renna scored the game winner unassisted at 99:28 of overtime.
CU's loss marks the first three-match losing streak under head coach Elmar Bolowich and the first three-game slide by the Bluejays since September 2001.
CU junior goalkeeper Alex Bolowich made a pair of saves on the evening but dropped to 5-4-1 on the season with the loss. Villanova's Andrew Weakley moved to 6-6-1 on the year with the win.
Creighton takes a two-match conference road trip next week with contests at No. 18 Butler on Wednesday and at Seton Hall on Oct. 26.
