Omaha, Neb. -- Wisconsin used a penalty kick and a pair of second-half goals to defeat the Creighton men's soccer team 3-1 Saturday night at Morrison Stadium in the final exhibition match of the preseason.
During the 30th minute, Wisconsin's Christopher Mueller drew a foul in the box, setting up a penalty kick. Mueller fired the ball into the bottom right corner of the net to give the Badgers a 1-0 lead.
Wisconsin held an early advantage in offensive possession and forced Bluejays goalkeeper Alex Kapp to make a pair of saves in the early stages of the first half before Creighton attempted its first shot, nearly 22 minutes into the match.
The Bluejays finished the first half with six shots, but forced Philipp Schilling to make only one save in the opening 45 minutes.
The field changed to start the second half as Wisconsin did not have a shot in the first 18 minutes of the second half, and Creighton had a pair of shots, but did not register one goal.
