Internship Description:Â
Creighton University's Athletic Performance Internship Program offers individuals a structured curriculum based on gaining practical experience within the collegiate environment, where they will be exposed to all facets of a Division I athletic performance program. The internship curriculum is composed of two levels and includes lecture and practical learning sessions and weekly assignments. Level 1 focuses on coaching presence, coaching Olympic lifts and strength training movements, and writing/leading warm ups and cool downs. Level 2 progresses to the topics of: periodization; writing annual training programs; creating a program template; performance testing & evaluation; conditioning; and the use of training and monitoring technology in strength and conditioning. Interns will also assist staff with facility maintenance and management of the fueling station. Interns will have the opportunity to work with all 14 Olympic Sport Teams at Creighton University and have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities.

Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Strong desire to become an athletic performance/strength and conditioning professional.Â
- Outstanding work ethic, attention to detail, enthusiasm, communication skills and punctuality.Â
- CPR/First Aid Certification (prior to the start of the internship)
- Must possess or be working toward a certification through the CSCCa, NSCA and/or USAW.Â
- Pursuing/have completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in a related field
- Previous experience in a strength and conditioning program, collegiate athletic experience or experience training other people.
