Franke selected 80th overall by FC Dallas, third Bluejay Selected During 2018 SuperDraft
FRISCO, Texas -- Former Creighton men's soccer player Noah Franke was selected during the Fourth Round of the 2018 MLS SuperDraft on Sunday, Jan. 21.
FC Dallas selected Franke with the 11th pick of the fourth round (80th overall). The Orlando, Florida, native became the third player from the 2017 Creighton men's soccer team to be picked during this year's draft (Lucas Stauffer, 26th pick; Ricky Lopez-Espin, 33rd pick).
He also marked the Bluejays'Â 41st MLS Draft pick since the league began in 1996. Creighton has now had three or more draft picks five times (2000, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2018).Â
Franke recorded 10 points with three goals and four assists during the 2017 season, and claimed a spot on the All-BIG EAST Second Team. He ranked second on the team with 41 shots during 18 matches played, including 17 starts. The midfielder played in 85 matches at Creighton and made 57 starts, while finishing with 14 assists and six goals during his four-year career in Omaha.
Franke helped guide Creighton to a 9-7-2 record during the 2017 season, two NCAA Tournament Elite Eight appearances (2014, 2015) and three Sweet Sixteen berths (2014, 2015, 2016).Â
The BIG EAST Conference had a total of eight draft picks during the 2018 MLS SuperDraft with Creighton's three leading the way for the most by an individual program in the conference.Â
