Brooks Kendall Claims Spot On Academic All-District First Team

Kendall earned second consecutive first-team honors
OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton men's tennis senior Brooks Kendall recently earned a spot on the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District VII Men's At-Large Team, selected by CoSIDA.Â
The Prairie Village, Kansas native, claimed a 4.0 GPA while studying financial analysis. This year marks the second consecutive season Kendall received Academic All-District recognition.
The 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, with Google Cloud Academic All-America teams announced in June.
District VII consists of student-athletes from the states of Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming. The 2018 District VII Men's At-Large Team includes student-athletes that participate in ice hockey, skiing, tennis and gymnastics.Â
On the courts, Kendall earned All-BIG EAST Second Team honors after tying for the team lead with 11 singles victories, including 10 at the No. 1 position. He also went 13-5 in doubles action, including 13-2 with Armando Gandini at the No. 3 position.
He ended his career with 82 victories at Creighton after transferring from UMKC.
In the classroom, Kendall earned a 4.0 GPA and earned a spot on Creighton's Dean's List each semester while majoring in financial analysis within the Heider College of Business.
Under the direction of head coach Tom Lilly, the Bluejays finished the 2018 spring season with a 10-10 record, marking the fifth consecutive season Creighton earned a double-digit win total.Â
