Agnew's Performances Against Bison and Huskers Lead to BIG EAST Player of the Week

New York, N.Y. -- Back-to-back 25+ point performances from senior Jaylyn Agnew led the Creighton women's team to a 2-0 week, including a fourth consecutive win over rival Nebraska on Sunday. Agnew's efforts led to the senior earning the BIG EAST Player of the Week honor on Monday, Nov. 25th.
Agnew opened the week delivering 25 points, five rebounds and three assists in the Bluejays' 70-59 win over North Dakota State on Monday, Nov. 18th. Six days later the Kansas native posted her seventh career double-double with 26 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Bluejays to a 79-74 win over the previously undefeated Huskers.
During the two-game week Agnew was a model of consistency from the field, shooting 19-of-38 from the field, hitting half of her shots in each contest, 10-of-20 against the Bison and 9-of-18 against Nebraska. Agnew connected on five three-pointers against the Huskers, going 7-of-17 (41.2%)Â during the week.
Agnew and the Bluejay squad will head to Cancun to take on No. 25 West Virginia on Thursday, Nov. 28th, followed by Temple on Friday, Nov. 29th in the Cancun Challenge

BIG EAST Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Jaylyn Agnew, Creighton, Sr., F
Agnew averaged a BIG EAST-best 25.5 points off 50-percent shooting along with 9.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in a 2-0 week for the Bluejays. She began with 25 points, five boards, three steals and three assists in Monday's win over North Dakota State before going off in Lincoln to lead Creighton in the road rivalry win at Nebraska. Against the Huskers, Agnew posted game highs of 26 points and 13 rebounds for her first double-double of the season, adding three assists. She was 5-of-11 from deep and 9-of-18 from the field overall, playing 38 minutes of turnover-free basketball.

BIG EAST Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week
Maddy Siegrist, Villanova, R-Fr., F
Siegrist repeats as the top rookie after averaging 18.0 points, 11.0 rebounds and .515 shooting in a 2-0 week for the Wildcats. The redshirt-freshman collected her third 20-point outing of the season on Thursday against Manhattan with a game-high 28 points to go along with game highs of 14 rebounds and four blocks. She added eight points and eight boards in Villanova's win at Georgia on Sunday, helping the Wildcats extend their winning streak to three games.

BIG EAST Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll
Mary Gedaka, Villanova, Sr., F
Gedaka led a shorthanded Villanova squad to back-to-back wins with 19.0 points, 4.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and .517 shooting in wins over Manhattan and at Georgia. She scored a game-high 21 in VU's win over the Bulldogs.
Qadashah Hoppie, St. John's, Jr., G
Hoppie led the Red Storm in scoring for the third consecutive game, going for a team-high 23 points while adding a pair of assists as St. John's knocked off Wake Forest on Friday.
Selena Lott, Marquette, Jr., G
In the Golden Eagles' lone game of the week, Lott registered game highs of 18 points, nine assists and four steals as Marquette won at Green Bay for the first time since 2007.
Genesis Parker, Butler, R-Jr., G
Parker was one of the BIG EAST's top scorers last week, averaging 22.5 points off .556 shooting. Butler went 1-1 on the week with Parker scoring 23 against IUPUI and 22 at Ball State, adding 3.0 rebounds.
Chante Stonewall, DePaul, Sr., F
Stonewall led the nationally ranked Blue Demons to their biggest win of the season with team highs of 27 points and seven rebounds in Saturday's victory over No. 16/17 Miami. She added 13 points, four rebounds and five steals against Arkansas State on Friday to average 20.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 2.5 assists in the 2-0 week, earning MVP honors of the Maggie Dixon Classic.
