Neil won three consecutive Nebraska Class A No. 1 Singles State Championships
"We have been following Ethan's success the past few years and targeted him as a top recruit early on," Lilly said. "Winning three state championships is one thing, but to do it with class and sportsmanship is another. Ethan has the respect of so many in the Omaha tennis community and he will no doubt bring us some more fans, along with his ever-improving game and work ethic. I am thrilled to have another Papio Monarch, my alma mater, become a Bluejay."
While playing for Papillion La Vista, Neil won the Nebraska Class A No. 1 Singles crown in the falls of 2018, 2019 and 2020. The Monarch closed his senior season with a 38-0 record in singles action. He also finished 42-4 as a sophomore in 2018 and 34-1 in 2019 as a junior. Neil also claimed third place at state during his freshman season.
He is listed as the No. 1 recruit in the state of Nebraska for the class of 2021 by TennisRecruiting.net and ranks No. 5 in the plain states and No. 202 nationally. Neil, a four-star recruit, owns a Universal Tennis Rating of 10.47.
"Growing up in Omaha I have enjoyed attending many Creighton events," Neil said. "When I took my campus visit I immediately recognized a sense of community and I can't wait to be a part of it! I know the team and coaches will be a perfect fit for me."
