Kupio, Finland -- Former Bluejay Jaylin Bosak (2016-19) will be taking her soccer talents to the next level as the Omaha native signed a one-year player contract for the 2021 league season with Kuopio Palloseura (KuPS), which plays in the Subway National League.
Bosak appeared in 69 games with 67 starts during her career with the Bluejays, playing 6001 minutes combined on the pitch. Over four seasons she delivered a combined eight goals and three assists (19 points), including three game-winning goals.
"My dream has been to play professional football in Europe," said Bosak. "KuPS is a very good team and I couldn't ignore this amazing opportunity. I want to thank to my agent and club for this opportunity and I look forward to meeting the team and starting the season. Since KuPS finished third in the league, my goal now is to win the league."
Bosak will be the first player under Bluejay head coach Ross Paule to play at the professional level since he took over the Creighton program in 2015.
"I am so happy for [Jaylin] to earn the opportunity to continue her soccer career at the professional level. She developed greatly during her time at Creighton and I loved coaching her," said Paule. "She is versatile to play in multiple roles, competes to win and will be a valuable addition. I look forward to watching her fulfill her dreams beginning with this first awesome opportunity."
Bosak is set to depart for Finland on Dec. 29, 2020 with the KuPS season to begin shortly afterwards.
