Jaylyn Agnew joined Jim Flanery
Creighton women's basketball standout Jaylyn Agnew caught up with head coach Jim Flanery in Episode 4 of "The Offseason".
A six-time BIG EAST Player of the Week in 2019-20, Agnew averaged 20.8 points per game to help Creighton finish 19-11 in the recently completed campaign. She scored a Creighton single-game record 43 points vs. Georgetown on March 1st on Senior Day, breaking a mark that had been on the books since 1982, and tying the BIG EAST single-game women's scoring record for a league contest. Agnew made 76-of-80 free throws (95.0 percent) for the season to lead the nation. She was a perfect 43-for-43 at the line in league play, and made her final 52 shots from the charity stripe. On Thursday, she'll look to become Creighton's first player ever selected in the WNBA Draft.
Flanery finished his 18th season with a record of 346-231 and is the most victorious basketball coach (men's or women's) in Creighton history. He has guided CU to the postseason 14 times, including four NCAA Tournament bids, and has directed his teams to nine 20-win campaigns. Flanery is a 1987 Creighton grad, where he was part of the men's basketball and men's golf programs.
