Creighton men's soccer goalkeeper Paul Kruse is the feature for this week's "Get To Know" video interview.
A rising junior from Heilbronn, Germany, Kruse held a 1.23 goals against average during 952 minutes of action (10 starts) last season. He made a career-high nine saves to help the Bluejays record a 1-1 draw against eventual national champion Georgetown during the final match of the regular season. He did not play from Sept. 10-Oct. 18 because of injury. Prior to the 2019 season, Kruse earned BIG EAST Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year accolades.
Kruse posted a 0.64 goals against average as a freshman in 2018 -- the fourth-best single season mark in program history -- and earned an All-BIG EAST Second Team selection and unanimous selection to the league's All-Freshman team. He played each minute in goal during his first season as a Bluejay and posted seven shutouts, the most by a Creighton freshman since Brian Holt had 12 in 2008. He only allowed more than one goal once and led the BIG EAST with just seven goals allowed during league play.
