Omaha, Neb. -- Bolstered by a pair of first half goals, the Creighton women's soccer team captured its first BIG EAST win of the 2021 season 2-0 over Seton Hall on Sunday, October 17.
The win lifted Creighton to 7-7-2 on the season and 1-5-1 in BIG EAST play, while Seton Hall fell to 6-9-0 and 1-6-0 in conference action.
Each of Creighton's two goals came via penalty kicks as freshman Hailey Rothwell and sophomore Abigail Santana drew fouls in the box in the opening half.
Rothwell's PK came in the 27th minute (26:22), racing inside the box along the left side, Rothwell was taken out by Seton Hall defender Dani Brinckman. An immediate call sent the Bluejay freshman to the penalty kick dot, where she easily converted.
