Men's Tennis Drops Match To Drake, 5-2

DES MOINES, Iowa. -- The Creighton men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Drake on Saturday at the Knapp Tennis Center.
The Bluejays moved their season record to 5-4, while the Bulldogs improved to 2-4.
Creighton earned the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and 3 positions. After falling in the No. 1 doubles match, Jose Oscar Diaz and Matthew Lanahan tied the early action with a 6-4 win at No. 2. Mac Mease and Shin Inoue sealed the first point of the day with a victory during a tiebreaker at the No. 3 doubles slot.
Joe Hoff earned the Bluejays' lone singles win with a 7-5, 6-2 victory at No. 6 singles.
Lanahan won his first set at No. 2 but lost the final two frames, while Inoue dropped a pair of tiebreakers during the No. 4 singles match.
Creighton returns to the courts on Friday at Wichita State. First serve between the Bluejays and Shockers is scheduled for 1 p.m.
