OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton women's tennis head coach Tom Lilly announced the addition of Allison Wilcox for the upcoming 2021-22 season.Â
"Allison had a good high school career and has been a mainstay in the Missouri Valley Region rankings of the USTA for the past several years," Lilly said. "She has a strong work ethic and is a terrific student, so she will fit right in on next year's team and will add to our depth.
Wilcox, a native of Prairie Village, Kansas, recently helped her Shawnee Mission East high school squad to the 2020 KSHSAA 6A State title in October and finished third individually. She also helped her team to co-championship at state in 2019 and runner-up status in both 2017 and 2018. Individually, Wilcox placed fifth in singles in 2019, seventh in singles in 2018 and placed third in doubles at the state meet as a freshman in 2017.
In addition to her accomplishments at the high school level in Kansas, Wilcox ranked in the top five in the state and 15th in the Missouri Valley region by the USTA.Â
A three-star recruit, Wilcox is the sister of current Bluejay Sarah Wilcox, who will be a senior in the fall of 2021.Â
Creighton ended its 2021 spring season during the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Championship Presented by JEEP. The Bluejays posted a 10-6 record and sophomore Kate Krueger earned All-BIG EAST honors.Â
