Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton women's basketball head coach Jim Flanery announced the addition of Lauren Jensen, a transfer from Iowa, on Monday, May 3.
"Creighton Women's Basketball is an awesome program with great people that has a winning tradition and culture," said Jensen. "It really is a special place and I am so excited to be joining the Bluejay family."
Hailing from Lakeville, Minn., Jensen played at Lakeville North High School. She was a three-time All-South Suburban Conference selection and All-State tournament honoree as a sophomore. She averaged 28.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game as a junior, leading team to section championship. One of five 2020 Minnesota Miss Basketball finalists, giving the Bluejays two of those five as Molly Mogense was also a finalist. Jensen holds single-game (47) and single-season school's points records (812) for the Panthers.
Jensen played the 2020 season for the Hawkeyes, appearing in 17 games. She closed the season with 23 points, hitting 6-of-17 (.353) from beyond the arc. Jensen's career-high came against Illinois, delivering seven points in 17 minutes.
"Lauren is someone we recruited hard out of high school, so we already have a tremendous comfort level with her. She is very high-character and hard-working. We love her competitiveness and mentality toward the game," said Flanery. "Lauren is a ball-handling, play-making guard who can really score it. We're really excited because we believe she can come in and make our team better."
At the club level Lauren played seven years for North Tartan AAU team, the same squad that produced former Bluejays Marissa Janning and Temi Carda as well as current teammate Mallory Brake.
