OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton Volleyball moved up one spot to 16th in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll after a fourth consecutive weekend that culminated in a tournament title.

The Bluejays, who made their first appearance in the Fall 2021 poll on Sept. 6 at No. 19 and were No. 17 a week ago, made their move after sweeping Wyoming, South Dakota and tournament host Wichita State at last weekend's Shocker Volleyball Classic. Creighton's 12-1 start is the program's best mark ever after 13 matches, and its 12 wins are more than any other team in this week's Top 25.

The Bluejays have now been ranked in 80 all-time polls. CU's all-time best ranking in program history is No. 7, which came in the poll released on Aug. 28, 2017. Creighton is 126-32 all-time when playing as a ranked team in the AVCA poll. This is the 10th straight season that Creighton has spent at least one week in the top-25, extending another program record. This is the program's best ranking since being No. 14 on Jan. 26, 2021.

Creighton's BIG EAST rival, Marquette, is still receiving votes after winning three times last weekend to improve to 9-2.

Creighton opens BIG EAST play on Friday at 5 p.m. Central when it takes on Butler in Indianapolis, Ind. That match will air on YouTube.com/ButlerAthletics. Creighton also plays at Xavier on Saturday at 4 p.m. Central. The Bluejays are 9-1 all-time when ranked and facing Butler and 9-0 all-time when ranked when facing Xavier.
