Omaha, Neb. -- The Creighton Women's Soccer team suffered a 1-0 defeat, falling to Marquette in Morrison Stadium on Thursday, September 30th.
The loss dropped the Bluejays to 6-4-2 on the season and 0-2-1 in BIG EAST action, while Marquette moved to 6-4-0 overall and 2-1-0 in conference play.
Marquette sent in the lone goal of the match in the fifth minute as Katrina Wetherell headed home a set piece put in motion by Kylie Sprecher and Elsi Twombly.
The Bluejays out shot the Golden Eagles 11-6 in the match, including a 6-2 edge in the opening 45 minutes.
Creighton returns to the pitch on Sunday, October 3rd against Xavier with a 1:00 pm kickoff.
