Paul Kruse and Charles Auguste Earn BIG EAST Weekly Awards Following Shutout of No. 1 Indiana

Kruse helped the Bluejays record their first shutout of season, while Auguste had a goal and assist against Hoosiers
OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton men's soccer seniors Paul Kruse and Charles Auguste earned BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week awards, respectively, the league announced on Monday morning.
Kruse made three saves as the Bluejays shut out No. 1 Indiana, 3-0, on Friday night for the program's first victory against a top-ranked team. The win also marked Creighton's first win against a ranked opponent since September of 2019 (2-1 vs. No. 21 Akron) and first shutout of a ranked opponent since 2018 (No. 11 Clemson, 2-0). The shutout of Clemson during the 2018 season opener was Kruse's first career start as a Bluejay. The Heilbronn, Germany native leads the BIG EAST with 18 saves through three matches played this season.
Auguste scored three points on Friday night against the top-ranked Hoosiers in Bloomington, Indiana. The Montreal, Quebec native netted Creighton's second goal of the match on his lone shot on goal of the evening with two minutes remaining in the first half. He also notched an assist on a goal from Dominic Briggs during the 79th minute to seal the victory against Indiana.Â
Creighton (1-2-0) returns to pitch this afternoon (Monday) to face Ohio State (1-2-0) in a neutral site match during the final day of the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic in Bloomington, Indiana. Kickoff between the Bluejays and Buckeyes is scheduled for 4 p.m. Central.Â
