Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton women's tennis head coach Tom Lilly announced the addition of Minnesota native Annika Elvestrom (Wayzata, Minn.) for the 2022-23 season.
A two-time Minnesota State champion doubles player (2019 and 2021), Elvestrom claimed the 2021 crown with her younger sister, Karina. The duo were integral in their high school, Minnetonka, claiming the team title as well. Annika collected the 2019 title with Sarah Shahbaz.
"Annika is a player that we feel is going to thrive in college," noted Lilly. "She continues to improve and move up the rankings and will no doubt work hard and get better practicing everyday with our team."
Ranked 211 nationally by the Tennis Recruiting Network, Elvestrom posted an 11-6 record during the 2021 season.
"She has a great academic background and is motivated to reach new heights on and off the court as a Bluejay. We are excited to have her join the Creighton tennis family," concluded Lilly.
