Volleyball Moves to 12th in AVCA Poll

OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton Volleyball improved one spot to a season-best 12th in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll released on Monday. It's the best ranking for CU since being 10th on Nov. 25, 2019.
Creighton swept Providence and Connecticut over the weekend to up its record to 22-3 overall, tying the best 25-match start in program history. Now 14-0 in BIG EAST play, the Bluejay RPI remained 15th in the official NCAA RPI for the third straight week.
Texas was idle last week but remained No. 1. The Longhorns are followed in the top-five by San Diego, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Louisville. Creighton's BIG EAST rival, Marquette (22-2, 13-1 BIG EAST) held steady at No. 17 in the poll.
The Bluejays have now been ranked each of the last 26 polls and 103 times in program history. That figure ranks tied for 43rd-most in history. CU's all-time best ranking in program history is No. 7, which came in the poll released on Aug. 28, 2017. Creighton is 167-38 all-time when playing as a ranked team in the AVCA poll. This is the 11th straight season that Creighton has spent at least one week in the top-25, another program record.
