Castro and Foulks Claim BIG EAST Weekly Honors

Castro Earns Offensive Player of the Week, Foulks Captures Freshman Honor
Omaha, Neb. -- Sophomore Jackson Castro and freshman Ben Foulks claimed the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week and Freshman Player of the Week when the conference announced the weekly awards on Monday, September 12. Senior Charles Auguste also earned a spot on the BIG EAST Honor Roll.
Castro scored two of the Bluejays' three goals during the week, giving Creighton a 1-0 lead just 37.5 seconds into the match with San Diego State on September 5. Castro also knocked in the equalizer against Stanford on Friday, September 9.Â
Foulks played a pivotal role in Creighton's equalizer against No. 2 Stanford in the 74th minute. He one touched a pass from senior Charles Auguste to Jackson Castro as the Bluejays punctured Stanford's defense.Â

Auguste earned an assist on the Bluejays' goal against No. 2 Stanford, part of three touches that helped Creighton post a 1-1 draw with the Cardinal. After Stanford scored in the opening minute of the game, Auguste and the rest of the Bluejay defense held the Stanford attack at bay, allowing just three corner kicks.
The Bluejays return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 14 as Creighton faces Omaha in the Dodge Street Derby at Caniglia Field with a 7:00 p.m. start time.
