#17 Volleyball Runs Sweep Streak To Seven at Georgetown

Creighton now 19-4 on the fall
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The No. 17 Creighton Volleyball team posted its seventh straight sweep with a 3-0 road win at Georgetown on Saturday.
Scores of the match were 25-16, 25-21, 25-14.
Creighton (19-4, 10-2 BIG EAST) trailed 11-10 early in the match before a kill from Norah Sis and back-to-back aces by Kiara Reinhardt put the Jays in front for good. Ava Martin served up CU's fifth ace of the frame, giving the Jays a 16-12 lead, and the route was on. Creighton hit .312 with 13 kills and four blocks in the first set while holding the Hoyas to .143 hitting. Sis had four kills and two aces while Kendra Wait owned six assists, four digs and three blocks for CU.
The Bluejays fell behind by as much as four (12-8 and 15-11) in the second set before rallying. CU took the lead at 18-17 after a 5-0 run on Sis' serve. The Bluejays closed out the second set on a 5-1 run, capped by an ace from Martin. Both Martin and Kiana Schmitt had four kills to key a Bluejay offense that had a 14-8 lead in kills over the Hoyas.
Kiara Reinhardt had a pair of aces to serve CU to a 4-0 lead to start the third set, and the lead quickly grew to 11-4. The Bluejays would never trail while securing their 15th sweep of the fall.
Wait had a double-double with 24 assists and a team-leading 13 digs while also contributing six blocks. Both Martin and Schmitt finished with 11 kills. Reinhardt also notched six blocks and tied her career-high with four aces. The Bluejays finished with 41 kills, 12 aces, 48 digs and nine blocks on .262 hitting.
Georgetown (12-12, 3-9 BIG EAST) was paced by seven kills from Mary Grace Goyena and Peyton Wilhite. The Hoyas finished with 28 kills, five aces, 46 digs and six blocks on .108 hitting.
Creighton returns to the court on Friday morning at 11:30 a.m. when it hosts DePaul.
NOTES: Kiana Schmitt became the 10th Bluejay in program history to appear in 100 victories. Her .870 winning percentage (100-15) is best in program history among those to have played in 100 or more wins ... Creighton has won all 20 matches against Georgetown, dropping just seven sets ...
