Men’s Tennis Wraps Up Play At Omaha Invite With Four Doubles Victories

OMAHA, Neb. – The Creighton men's tennis team wrapped up play win four doubles victories at the Omaha Invite on Sunday afternoon at the Koch Family Tennis Center.
Junior Ethan Neil and freshman Cowen Lau teamed up for a pair of wins at the No. 3 doubles position. After falling to Omaha's Ethan Gaubet and Mikhail Korkunov to open the day, the duo responded with a 6-4 win over UND's Jayho Hong and Christos Alex. The tandem then claimed an identical 6-4 victory over UNK's Alex Jaulin and Jip Mens to close out the afternoon.
Sophomore's Kirtan Patel and Yuma Daijima cruised to a 6-2 victory over UND's Jerall Yasin and Ethan Terry, while senior Shin Inoue and sophomore Zachary Kuo battled to a 7-5 triumph over UNK's Tom Vanden Dungen and Maksym Kulish.
"This weekend's invite was a good gut check before the ITA Regional," said head coach Gerhard Posch. "We are continuing to work on our dedication, focus and willingness to improve each and every day."
Creighton returns to the courts on Thursday, Oct. 19 when the Bluejays travel to Oklahoma for the ITA Regional hosted by Oklahoma State.
