Sis, Wait & Martin Earn VolleyballMag.com All-America honors

Trio helped the Bluejays finish 29-5
This year marks the eighth straight season that Creighton has had at least one All-American from VolleyballMag.com, but the three honorees trails only the four selections from CU's 2021 squad that included Sis, Wait, Abby Bottomley and Jaela Zimmerman.
Sis becomes Creighton's first Second Team All-American from VolleyballMag.com after a standout junior campaign. Named the site's National Freshman of the Year in 2021, Sis ranked second in the BIG EAST in both kills per set (3.91) and points per set (4.44), 11th in aces per set (0.32) and 19th in both hitting percentage (.248) and digs per set (2.69).. The Papillion, Neb., product was named a First Team All-BIG EAST pick by league coaches for the third time in as many seasons. Sis missed 11 matches in the middle of the season, thus she was not eligible for AVCA All-America consideration in 2023 because she had not played in the required 66.7 percent of CU's sets by the association's Nov. 26th nomination deadline.
Wait moves up to the Third Team after being an Honorable Mention All-America choice from VolleyballMag.com the previous two campaigns. The Gardner, Kan., native led the BIG EAST with 10.35 assists per set and ranked ninth in the league with a team-leading 396 digs. Named BIG EAST Player of the Year and BIG EAST Setter of the Year, Wait has been named a First Team All-BIG EAST selection following each of her three seasons as a Bluejay. Wait had also been an Honorable Mention All-America selection by the AVCA in each of the previous two seasons before jumping onto the Third Team this fall.
A sophomore outside hitter from Overland Park, Kan., Martin led Creighton with 417 kills and was a unanimous All-BIG EAST selection. She ranked fourth in the conference in kills per set (3.59), fifth in points per set (3.95) and 11th in hitting percentage (.280). Martin was also the league's lone player to hit .275 or better with 400 or more kills. Martin, who was named to four All-Tournament Teams this fall, picked up Honorable Mention All-America honors from the AVCA earlier in the month.
Creighton now owns 17 VolleyballMag.com All-America accolades in since 2016, which have been earned by eight different women.
Coached by Kirsten Bernthal Booth, Creighton finished the its season in the Sweet 16 on Dec. 7 with a 29-5 overall record after making its 12th consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Bluejays won their 10th straight BIG EAST regular-season title while also capturing their ninth league tournament title in the past 10 campaigns.
