#16 Volleyball Earns 36th Straight Top 25 Ranking

Bluejays have won five of last six contests
OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton Volleyball team dropped from 11th to 16th in the AVCA/TARAFLEX Top 25 poll released on Monday.
Creighton went 1-1 last weekend to open BIG EAST play, as its five-match win streak was snapped on Saturday with a 3-2 loss at Xavier.
The Bluejays are one of 17 schools (along with Baylor, BYU, Florida, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Pitt, Purdue, Stanford, Texas and Wisconsin) to have been ranked each of the last 36 polls. Creighton has been ranked in all but six of the past 105 weeks the AVCA has put out a Top 25 poll and 113 times in program history, which is tied with Santa Clara for 41st-most all-time. Creighton is 182-43 all-time when playing as a ranked team in the AVCA poll, including 13 straight regular-season home wins.
CU's all-time best ranking in program history is No. 7, which came in the poll released on Aug. 28, 2017. This is the 12th straight season that Creighton has spent at least one week in the top-25, extending another program record.
The top five of the poll features Wisconsin, Nebraska, Stanford, Florida and Louisville. Creighton owns a pair of wins over current top-25 teams, having defeated No. 13 Minnesota (3-2 on Sept. 16) and No. 17 Purdue (3-0 on Aug. 26).
Creighton (10-3, 1-1 BIG EAST) returns to D.J. Sokol Arena for the first time in four weeks when it hosts St. John's (Friday, 6 p.m.) and Seton Hall (Sunday, 1 p.m.) this weekend.
