Creighton (16-2, 7-0 BIG EAST) surrendered the first point of the match before Bilinovic served a five-point run to give CU the lead for good in the opener. The margin expanded to 12-5 after a serving blitz by Hausmann, and grew as large as nine on three occasions. Sis had seven kills and Bilinovic six digs in the lid-lifter as CU hit .500 and held the Muskies to .111 hitting.
Xavier led as late as 13-12 in the second set but CU answered with a three-point burst after a timeout to take control. CU scored five of the final seven points to take the 25-19 second set win.
