Creighton sweeps Seton Hall for the 17th straight meeting
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. -- Ava Martin had 13 kills, 11 digs and tied her career-high with four aces to lead the No. 6 Creighton Volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep at Seton Hall on Saturday evening in South Orange, N.J.
Scores of Creighton's (19-2, 10-0 BIG EAST) 17th straight sweep over Seton Hall were 25-14, 25-13, 25-11.
Creighton needed a timeout midway through the first set after seeing its lead dwindle to 14-13, then closed the set with an 11-1 run for a 25-14 victory in the opener. CU hit .273 with Martin leading the way with six kills and six digs. Kendra Wait provided 12 assists and eight digs.
The Bluejays keep their foot on the gas pedal in the second set, a 25-13 victory. Jaya Johnson had four kills and Martin added another half-dozen kills. CU hit .382 in the second set.
 Martin served three aces as Creighton raced to a 7-0 lead in the third set and never trailed to close out the victory.
Creighton hit .311 and finished with 42 assists, eight aces, 57 digs and six blocks. Martin led CU with 13 kills and added 11 digs, while Wait notched 28 assists and 17 digs.
Seton Hall was paced by seven kills from Senna Roberts-Navarro. The Pirates hit .112 and had 26 kills, 39 digs and two blocks, but were held without an ace.
Creighton will play five of its next six matches at home, a stretch that starts on Friday with a 6 p.m. home match vs. St. John's.
