OMAHA, Neb. – Recent Creighton women's soccer graduate and standout Keelan Terrell officially announced the signing of her first professional contract. Terrell inked a one-year deal to play in Iceland for Fjar?bygg?/Leiknir/Hottur (FHL) during the 2024 season.
"Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to grow up and make a career out of the sport I love," said Terrell. "Finally making this dream a reality by signing my first professional contract has been such a surreal experience. I am beyond excited to play for FHL in Iceland and grow as a player and person."
Terrell, one of the most decorated goalkeepers in program history, closed out her Bluejay career as one of just five players to rank in the top-10 of every career goalkeeper category. The Olathe, Kan. native ranked second in school history with 6,062 minutes player, while appearing in 67 matches over the course of her five-year career. She led Creighton to 21 victories, the seventh-most in program history by a Bluejay goalkeeper, with 17 coming via shutouts. Terrell also finished her luxurious career ranked seventh with a 1.27 goals against average while recording the sixth-most saves with 219.
As a senior in 2022, Terrell guided the Bluejays to their second BIG EAST Tournament Semifinals appearance after collecting a diving save in the seventh round of penalty kicks to propel the Bluejays past Butler.
"I wouldn't be where I am today without the endless support from my family and loved ones," added Terrell. "They've been by my side since the beginning and through all the ups and downs. I also want to thank my coaches and teammates who have helped develop me into the player I am today. Lastly, I am so grateful for all the memories and amazing people Creighton has brought into my life. Go Jays!"
