Hefflinger graduated from Creighton University magna cum laude with her B.A. in English and French in 1970.  She then pursued her M.A. degree in counseling and guidance from the University of Nebraska-Omaha where she graduated summa cum laude. She was also a member of the Leadership Omaha cohort (1988-89). She served as the executive director for Partnership 4 Kids (1997-2011) and as the YWCA development director (1994-96). She continues to be a consultant for non-profit organizations on a regular basis and has developed a passion for scholarship support and understands how it can impact the lives of college students.Â
Hefflinger was president of the Creighton National Alumni Advisory Board and in that role, also served on the University's Board of Trustees.  She has been a member of the Creighton Athletics Leaders for Life committee since its inception in 2006. She has also been recognized with several honors, including her induction in the Creighton Prep Hall of Fame Class of 2002. She has been awarded the WCA Tribute to Women Award as a "Woman of Distinction." She has chaired numerous community events, including Girls Inc. Jamboree, Omaha Symphony Designer Showhouse, Omaha Children's Museum benefit and countless other organization boards. She has also chaired the Creighton Prep BASH and Duchesne Conge, and supports Catholic education to make it more accessible to all students.Â
Julie lives in Omaha with her husband Dave, who she met at Creighton. They have three children – Mark, Anne and Joe and daughter-in-law Kim, as well as granddaughters Lily and Jolie. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and giving art tours at the Joslyn Art Museum. She also enjoys playing golf with her family.
Menaugh joined Creighton University in 2009, serving as the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance, a role she held until 2020. In 2014, she became the Senior Woman Administrator for Creighton Athletics, overseeing our women's programs, student-athlete welfare and served as Deputy Title IX Coordinator for the University. Brandy is a champion for Creighton's female student-athletes and was instrumental in growing Leaders for Life during her tenure, resulting in an upward trend of scholarship money raised for these young women. She also advocated for women across campus by serving on the University's Committee on the Status of Women. Brandy continues to be an integral part of Leaders for Life, maintaining her status on the fundraising committee and encouraging people to become involved in this initiative.Â
In 2020, Menaugh became the Vice President of People at Buildertrend, where she is responsible for engaging and retaining talent, overseeing human resources efforts, and designing initiatives to support culture and employee development. In the community, she has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and the Children's Hospital Foundation, been a member of the Project Harmony Service League board, and currently serves as an executive committee member of the Omaha Sports Commission and an advisor for the CU Volleyball NIL Collective.
Brandy obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Nebraska in 2003 and then earned her Juris Doctorate from UNL's College of Law in 2006. She and her husband Joe live in Omaha and have two children, daughter Micah (11) and son Cohen (8).
