Bluejays add Eloise Brandewie, Saige Damrow and Ivy Leuck
OMAHA, Neb. – The Creighton Volleyball program signed three transfers on Thursday, adding Eloise Brandewie, Saige Damrow and Ivy Leuck. All three women will enroll in spring classes at Creighton, which start on Tuesday.
Brandewie is a 6-foot-3 middle blocker who spent the previous two seasons at Ohio State. The Columbus, Ohio, product was one of three Buckeyes to play in all 117 sets last fall, and led the team with 1.07 blocks per set. She also averaged 1.47 kills per set. As a freshman with the Buckeyes, Brandewie paced OSU with 0.83 blocks per set. She was named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators and was also an Academic All-Big Ten choice last year. After her senior season at Bishop Harley High School, Brandewie was named Ohio's Gatorade Player of the Year and a First Team All-American by both Prep Volleyball and Prep Dig.
"Eloise is a great middle, someone who has trained with USA Volleyball and Norah Sis one summer," said associate head coach and recruiting coordinator Brian Rosen. "She's always trained at a really high level. She's been a two-year starter at Ohio State. She wants to help a team get to the Final Four, and those are our goals too. She's someone that can help us get there."
Damrow is a 5-foot-8 defensive specialist who arrives after spending two seasons at Wisconsin. Damrow averaged 2.24 digs per set last fall at Wisconsin, which finished 26-7 and ranked seventh nationally after advancing to the Elite Eight. The Howards Grove, Wis., native has three seasons of eligibility remaining after missing all but three matches of the 2023 season due to injury. Damrow played with USA Volleyball's U17 Training Team as a freshman and U18 Training Team as a sophomore. She was Prep Volleyball's No. 10 Senior Ace out of high school.
"What we love about Saige is that she has two years of experience with an Elite Eight/Final Four level team," noted Rosen. "She brings a feisty competitiveness and is an elite-level serve receive passer. She was able to play libero this season quite a bit, so she was competing with and against some of the best players in the country."
Leuck is a 5-foot-9 setter who has played the past two years at Omaha. She started 34-of-57 appearances with the Mavericks, leading the team in assists both seasons. Leuck owned 547 assists as a freshman and 791 assists as a sophomore and owns 10 career double-doubles. The Omaha native won four state titles at Skutt Catholic High School and also won a pair of national championships on the club scene with Premier Nebraska.
"Ivy was a two-year starter at Omaha, so she brings a wealth of experience to us as a setter," added Rosen. "She's also from one of the most storied high school programs in Omaha, where she won four state championships. We love that she brings a winning pedigree to our gym. She's a great human and is going to make our gym better."
Creighton finished the 2024 season with a 32-3 record and was ranked sixth nationally in the year-end AVCA poll after reaching the Elite Eight in December.
