Akron, Ohio -- Despite outplaying #12 Akron for most of the match, #6 Creighton Men's Soccer settled for a 1-1 draw on Sunday, October 11.
Following Sunday's outcome the Bluejays moved to 10-0-4 overall and 2-0-2 in BIG EAST action, while the Zips moved to 7-1-3 on the season and 1-1-2 in conference contests.Â
The Bluejays got on the board first as senior Edward Morales got credited with a goal that glanced off his shoulder. Fellow senior Matthew Reed sent the shot toward goal, while sophomore Ayden Kokoszka in the third minute (2:42).
The Zips got the equalizer in the 81st minute (80:09) as a penalty kick was awarded to Akron. Matthew Paiva capitalized on the opportunity.Â
Creighton continues its road travels against #18 Xavier on Thursday as two of the five unbeaten teams at the D1 level face off at 5:00 pm (CT).
