The Bluejays ended the 2025 season with a 12-14 overall record, while the Musketeers improved to 10-12 on the year and advanced to tomorrow's semifinals match where they will take on second-seeded DePaul.
Creighton stormed out of the games, capturing the doubles point for 15th time this season with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions. Senior Zachary Kuo and freshman Mathis Dahler got things started with their team-leading 14th doubles win of the season after combining for a 6-2 victory on the No. 3 doubles court. Senior Kirtan Patel and sophomore Rocky McKenzie would follow it up with a 6-4 triumph at the No. 2 doubles spot to clinch the doubles point and give the Jays a 1-0 lead.
Xavier battled back in singles as Alexander Kotarski and Bode Campbell erased one-set deficits on the No. 2 and No. 5 singles court to take a 2-1 lead. Campbell put the Musketeers on the scoreboard with a 2-6, 6-0, 6-3 three-set win at the No. 5 singles spot to level the contest at 1-1, before Kotarski edged out McKenzie, 6-1, 1-6, 6-4, on the No. 2 singles court to put Xavier out in front 2-1.
Creighton, however, responded with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 three-set win on the No. 4 singles court from Kuo and a 7-6, 6-4 straight sets victory from Dahler at the No. 3 singles spot to regain a 3-2 advantage.
Xavier answered right back with a Nick Herdoica 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 three-set victory on the top singles court to tie things up at 3-3 and force a winner-take-all scenario on the No. 6 singles court.
Knotted at 3-3, Creighton Lucas Mommessin soared out to an early advantage with a 6-4 victory in set one. Xavier's Lukas Grossman bounced back with a 6-4 win in set two, before clinching the match for the Musketeers with a 6-4 triumph in the decisive third set.
