OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton Volleyball announced its Fall 2026 schedule on Wednesday, which features 15 matches against teams that played in the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Head coach Brian Rosen's second squad will face a gauntlet to start the season as all 12 non-conference opponents owned an RPI of 44 or better last fall and all but one made the NCAA Tournament.
All told, Creighton's non-conference opponents posted a combined 292-90 (.764) record a year ago, with an average RPI of 21. Eight of the non-conference foes were seeded in the NCAA Tournament, including six programs who hosted, as the Bluejay slate five Sweet 16 teams, three Elite Eight clubs and a home match against defending national champion Texas A&M.
The fall gets started with a home exhibition match against South Dakota (Aug. 16) before a final preseason tune-up on Aug. 22 at Kansas.
The regular-season opens with three matches against Big Ten foes at the 2026 State Farm Women's Volleyball Showcase in Sioux Falls, S.D., at the Sanford Pentagon. The Jays open the year on Aug. 28 taking on a Purdue squad that has made three straight Sweet 16s and advanced to last year's Elite Eight. The following evening CU meets up with Minnesota, a Sweet 16 qualifier last year. The Jays wrap up play on Aug. 30 with a match against perennial power USC, the 12th meeting between the schools since 2014.
Creighton's initial home matches of the regular-season will see Arizona (Sept. 4), Pepperdine (Sept. 5) and Tulsa (Sept. 6) visit D.J. Sokol Arena for the Bluejay Invitational.
Creighton's annual tournament with Northern Iowa, Louisville and Rice returns for a third straight year and will take place in Houston. The Jays meet the Panthers on Sept. 11 in a rematch of last year's NCAA Tournament Second Round match won by CU before taking on Louisville (Sept. 12) and host Rice (Sept. 13).
Creighton's only standalone non-conference match is a Sept. 16 battle at Nebraska, an Elite Eight team a year ago after finishing 33-1. The teams have played a five-set match in four of the past seven seasons and last year played in front of 17,675 fans at CHI Health Center Omaha, the largest indoor regular-season NCAA Volleyball-only crowd in history.
The Bluejays wrap up non-conference play by hosting the Creighton Classic. CU renews its regional rivalry with Kansas State on Sept. 18, then entertains reigning NCAA champ Texas A&M on Sept. 20th. It'll be the first time Creighton has hosted the defending national champion inside D.J. Sokol Arena, where the Bluejays are 46-1 in the previous three seasons.
The 12-time defending BIG EAST champion Bluejays open league play on the road with visits to Seton Hall (Sept. 25) and St. John's (Sept. 26) before beginning October with home matches against DePaul (Oct. 2), Marquette (Oct. 4), Butler (Oct. 9) and Xavier (Oct. 11).
CU heads East for matches at Villanova (Oct. 16) and Georgetown (Oct. 17), then returns home to take on Connecticut (Oct. 23) and Providence (Oct. 24). The Jays close out October with contests at Marquette (Oct. 30) and DePaul (Oct. 31).
November features road tests at Xavier (Nov. 7) and Butler (Nov. 8) before CU wraps up the regular-season with home tilts against Georgetown (Nov. 13) and Villanova (Nov. 15).
CU will host the four-team BIG EAST Tournament Presented by JEEP on Nov. 21-22, where it looks to win a seventh straight league tournament title and its 12th crown in 13 seasons.
The NCAA Tournament opens on campus sites from Dec. 3-5, with Creighton in search of a 15th straight appearance.
