Omaha, Neb. -- Continuing to invest in the betterment of the Bluejay Women's Basketball program, Creighton head coach Jim Flanery announced the addition of Kiani Lockett as a graduate assistant to round out the staff for the 2026-27 season.
Spending her last four years as a member of the team, Lockett's playing career was cut short by a knee injury in November of 2025. Despite the injury Lockett was a vital part of the Bluejay squad last season, helping to mentor a talented freshmen class that included unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team selection Ava Zediker and All-BIG EAST Freshman Team selection Neleigh Gessert.
During her four seasons on the court, Lockett played in 82 games at Creighton. She earned the start in 34 contests, helping the Bluejays reach the NCAA Tournament in each of her first three campaigns.Â
Lockett completed her undergraduate degree this May in Psychology and will be pursuing a master's in Integrative health and wellness.
"The Creighton Women's Basketball program has played a huge role in shaping who I am, so I am incredibly excited to continue my journey here as a graduate assistant," said Lockett. "Having the opportunity to further my education while learning from amazing coaches is truly special. I'm grateful for the chance to give back to a program that has given me so much."
"Kiani was such an important part of our team last season, leading both on and off the court," said Flanery. "It was an easy decision to ask her join our staff. Her energy and expertise will continue to allow our program to connect with our current players as well as recruit the highest caliber of individuals in the future."
