OMAHA, Neb. – Head Coach Brian Rosen announced the signing of outside hitter Mila Vlahovic into the Creighton Volleyball program for 2026. Vlahovic is from Ghent, Belgium, and has played for several prominent clubs in Serbia and Belgium in recent years.
Vlahovic turned 19 earlier this year and will be a freshman this fall.
Vlahovic stands 6'1" and has played the last two seasons with Radnicki Beograd in the BPŠ Superliga, the top-tier women's division in Serbia.
She's also played in Belgium for Asterix AVO Beveren, Topsportschool Vilvoorde, VKt Torhout B and VBC Sint-Joris in the past six years.
Vlahovic starred for the Belgian National Team at the Girls' U19 World Championships in 2025, averaging 11.89 kills and 1.78 aces in nine matches in Croatia and Serbia. She was second among all players in aces, fourth in points and ninth in kills.
"From our first phone call, we instantly fell in love with Mila as a person," said Rosen. "She has so much positive energy and a love for getting to know new people. She values education and wants to be a part of a tight-knit community. She will fit right into our team and culture! On the court, she brings a fiery passion, can point score on both pins, pass and defend in the back row, and brings a high level of knowledge, even at such a young age. Her Belgium U19 national team experience against the best young talent in the world and playing in the top division in Serbia the past two seasons against players 10+ years older than her will have her ready to compete against the best in the NCAA. We are so excited to welcome Mila to Omaha and the Bluejay family!"
"I'm super excited to become a Bluejay and experience the amazing volleyball culture in Nebraska," said Vlahovic. "One of the biggest reasons I chose Creighton is because the university has a smaller and more family-like atmosphere, which I think will help me adjust easily to the American lifestyle. I'm really looking forward to meeting new girls, learning about different cultures, and making unforgettable memories. I also truly believe the volleyball program at Creighton will help me grow a lot as a player and push me to become the best version of myself both on and off the court."
Creighton Volleyball has won 12 straight BIG EAST regular-season titles and coming off back-to-back Elite Eight appearances. CU's regular-season begins on Aug. 28 against Purdue at the 2026 State Farm® Women's Volleyball Showcase in Sioux Falls, S.D.
