Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton Women's Basketball head coach Jim Flanery announced the addition of Minnesota native Niamya "Nia" Holloway. After spending four seasons at University of Minnesota, Holloway comes to the Bluejays as a graduate student planning to pursue her master's in negotiations and conflict resolution.
Holloway redshirted the 2022-23 season due to an injury, but over the past three seasons she has appeared in 97 games. She played a career-high 474 minutes during the 2023-24 campaign, scoring 128 points. A career 46.9% shooter (99-for-211), Holloway shot better than 55 percent (55.1%) during the 2024-25 season. She has 74 career steals, 218 rebounds and 23 blocks
An Academic All-Big Ten selection in 2024-25, Holloway completed her undergraduate degree in political science and urban studies this spring.Â
One familiar face for Holloway at Creighton is the Bluejays' graduate assistant Kiani Lockett as the two were teammates at the club level.
A graduate of Eden Prairie High School, Nia averaged 16.9 points and 8.1 rebounds per game for the Eagles. She was a two-time Minnesota All-State selection. The daughter of Todd and Nolana Holloway, Nia has four siblings Malakai, Todd, Caleb, and Maleah. Holloway joins another notable basketball player Ethan Wragge (MBB) to come to Creighton from Eden Prairie HS.Â
