Track Programs Earn All-Academic Team Honors from USTFCCCA

Both teams own a GPA over 3.60
OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton men's and women's track teams have been recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, as both squads earned All-Academic Team recognition.
The academic recognition is nothing new for the Bluejay track programs.
CU's men's track team was honored for having a top-five GPA for the fifth year in a row after owning a 3.67 team GPA. The Bluejays owned the nation's top GPA in 2022, 2024 and 2025, while finishing second in the country in 2023.
The women's track squad owned a 3.63 GPA, tied for the 33rd-best mark nationwide. The Creighton women have been second (2022), first (2023), third (2024) and 15th (2025) in the four periods prior to this year's finish.
Creighton and Ivy League schools Brown and Yale were the nation's only three schools with a team GPA of 3.63 or better in both men's and women's track. CU's combined GPA of 7.30 was tied with North Dakota State for sixth in the country, behind only Brown (7.38), Yale (7.37), San Francisco (7.36), Rice (7.32) and Utah State (7.31).
Creighton had eight men own a perfect 4.0 GPA in the spring, and 13Â men have a 3.90 cumulative GPA or better. The CU women owned nine student-athletes with a 4.0 GPA in the spring and 17 women in the program boasted a GPA of 3.50 or better in the spring semester.
Overall, there were 244 women's track teams and 200Â men's track programs that received All-Academic Team honors in NCAA Division I for the 2026 season. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
Creighton was coached by Chris Gannon in 2025-26 and is currently under the direction of former assistant coach Matthew Fayers, who was named the program's interim head coach on July 1st.
