Men's Track Sweeps 2025-26 BIG EAST Team Academic Excellence Awards

NEW YORK - The Creighton men's indoor track and men's outdoor track teams have won 2025-26 Team Academic Excellence Awards from the BIG EAST. The honors recognize the conference's top-performing teams in the classroom across each of its 22 sponsored sports.

This is the third straight season that CU has won the outdoor track award, and second consecutive indoor track honor. Only six other teams across the league repeated a Team Academic Excellence Award from 2024-25.

The conference recognized one team in each sport, with the annual awards highlighting the outstanding academic achievements of BIG EAST student-athletes during the 2025-26 academic year.

The awards are presented annually to the team in each conference-sponsored sport that records the highest cumulative grade-point average. Team GPAs are calculated using every student-athlete listed on an institution's official roster at the conclusion of the championship segment in each sport.

St. John's paced the conference with five Team Academic Excellence Awards. Butler followed with four honors, Georgetown earned three awards and Creighton collected two. DePaul, Providence, Seton Hall, UConn, Villanova and Xavier each received one award.
